Transition Kids
Here are some of the things Transition Kids have worked on in 2011:
- Building ManCan, a 7ft robot farmer made from recycled packaging (see photo). This was a project done with local artist Pandora Vaughan aimed at discussing with children how we can reduce, re-use and recycle waste. So far ManCan has visited Thornton’s Budgens on Haverstock Hill, the Swiss Cottage Library and England’s Lane Bookshop.
- Making Music Picnic. Local children gathered on Primrose Hill to make imaginative musical instruments from recycling waste, wooden pallets and anything else that inspired them. They then performed for the crowd!
- Summer Veg Out Stall at Parliament Hill Farmers’ Market. Local school gardening clubs displayed their fabulous home-grown produce, and raised funds for their school.
